Women’s Retreat

Calling all fun loving, friendly women! We will gather at beautiful Camp Amnicon (just 8 miles from Superior) on Friday night, April 8, and return Sunday morning, April 10 for the annual Women’s Retreat. This year’s topic: “Grace and Creativity.” Great food, conversation and lots of laughter.

This weekend is gently structured to accommodate all needs, so you can come for all or just a part of the weekend. $100 for lodging & meals for the entire weekend; less for shorter stays. Please sign up early in the church office. Call Anne Miller at 525-1555 for more information.

Fun and Games, Anyone?

Mark your calendars and plan on attending the first ever FUMC Games Night on April 15 from 6:30 to 8:30 pm in the Lakeview Social Hall. Cost is $10 per person with a $20 family limit, and participants are asked to also bring a wrapped “White Elephant” prize. Snacks are included as part of the registration fee.

Games of Cribbage, Scrabble, and Yahtzee will be offered with a 30-minute time limit per session of games. Participants will then change into different playing groups for the next 30-minute session. Longer sessions of up to an hour will be possible for some games. Winners will have their choice of “White Elephant” prizes, and drawings will also be held for door prizes.

Families of all sizes are welcome, and child care will be provided for children too young for the games. This first ever event is sponsored by the Capital Campaign Steering Committee with the goal of fun and fellowship. All proceeds from Games Night will go to the Capital Campaign.

 

50th Anniversary Special Edition Cookbook

Thank you, friends, for your help in creating a very special cookbook in just 30 days!

Facts about the cookbook:

  • 126 gracious contributors
  • 450 yummy recipes
  • 100 cookbooks presold–thank you!
  • 500 cookbooks on order
  • $11 retail for a book
  • Order placed March 16; production time 20-25 business days
  • Begin selling the cookbooks to general public & pick up preorders at Spring Roast Beef Dinner (April 28)
  • $3,000 profit when all books are sold
  • Goal is to purchase outside signage for 50th Anniversary Celebration and for directional signage for events

PREORDER cookbooks in the narthex at the cookbook table (pay now or pay later). This is going to be your favorite “go-to” recipe book in your cookbook collection!

Ruby’s Pantry

 Volunteers are needed each month to help with Ruby’s Pantry, a food distribution ministry held on the third Thursday of the month (Mar 17). Choose from registration/welcome, traffic control, unloading truck, bulk food repackaging, food distribution, carry-out help, box recycling, clean-up and other tasks. Come and go as you have time; even an hour of help is appreciated! Event goes from 3 pm unloading time to 8 pm clean-up.

We will gather at beautiful Camp Amnicon, just 8 miles from Superior, Wisconsin, on Friday night, April 8, returning Sunday morning, April 10. Come for all or part of the weekend. Be prepared to enjoy great conversation and laughter as we explore this year’s topic: “Grace and Creativity”.
