United Methodist Women (UMW)
Money from the annual bazaar
goes to a variety of outreach projects. Daminano Center, Women's
Coalition, Life House, CHUM, Women's Shelter, and Bethany Crisis
Nursery have all received money raised by the bazaar. UMW finances
part of the parish nurse salary, gives scholarships to youth, and
contributes to children's program. This is a wonderful opportunity
for women to become involved and share God's love in community with
others. All Methodist women are members of UMW; to become an active
member, contact the church office (727-5021).
Fourth Sunday of Month: Food Sharing
Bring your Food Shelf items and place them in the shopping
cart in the narthex. We are a drop-off site and regularly bring
food to the Food Shelf. All items must be non-perishable (cans of
soup, vegetables, boxes of cereal, muffin mixes, etc). This is an
easy way to help our community members.
Prayer Chain
This group regularly
prays for church members, their families, and others who seek God's
healing and understanding love. If you are in need of confidential
prayer support, contact the church office (727-5021).
We Care
Caring visitors and TeleCare phone friends make regular
calls on members who are homebound and in nursing homes. The Congregational
Care ministry also provides meals at times of emergencies and loss.
Health Ministry
The Health Ministry at FUMC supports the journey
toward wholeness in the relationship of body, mind, and spirit.
Parish Nurses reaffirm and support this journey. The heart of parish
nursing is confidential listening. Specifically, the health ministry
includes:
• blood pressure screenings on Sunday mornings
• visits and communion service to the homebound
• visiting the ill
• and more.
