Dad, Daughter, World

Scripture Readings: Proverbs 8:1-4; John 16:12-15

On Sunday May 22, Pastor David and his daughter, Dr. Elizabeth Bard, an ob/gyn, had a conversation during the sermon time.

Pastor David discussed what had happened at the recent United Methodist General Conference in Portland.  He spoke of the pain and frustration in our denomination, of our struggles as we work together across the world, and of the good work we continue to do even as we bleed and struggle as a church.  The world needs our work and witness.  Even if the UMC eventually divides, we cannot be divided in our care for the world.

Dr. Beth shared about some of her work across the world as a medical student and as a medical resident.  She shared how her faith has helped inspire and sustain her in this work.
