Worship for Sunday June 19, 2016
On behalf of First United Methodist Church: congratulations to all those who participated in Grandma’s Marathon, and Happy Father’s Day. We also remember Juneteenth today. We would love to welcome you to worship at 10 a.m.
Scripture Readings: I Kings 19:1-15a; Luke 8:26-39
Sermon: The Sound of Screaming Silence
Morning Prayer: God who spoke from a burning bush to Moses, in the sound of silence to Elijah, and with the fluttering of dove’s wings to Jesus, we trust that your Spirit still speaks. You speak as we study the Scriptures. You speak as we pray. You speak in the deep recesses of our hearts and souls. You also speak as we listen to the anguished cries of a hurting world and the joyful songs of a beautiful world. In grace give us ears, hearts, souls to listen deeply. In Jesus. Amen.
Songs: I Will Call Upon the Lord; You Are Mine; Song of Hope
Musicians: Tapestry (band); Riley Hinnenkamp, tenor, Parker Hinnenkamp, piano
