Worship for Sunday June 26, 2016
We would love to welcome you to worship this Sunday at 10 a.m. Children welcome. Adults welcome. You are welcome regardless of economic status, marital status, racial identity, sexual orientation, gender identity, “disabling conditions.” God’s dream for the world is of a rich tapestry woven out of the various colorful threads of humanity. We like Sunday morning worship to look a little like that.
Scripture Reading: Galatians 5:1, 13-25
Sermon: Creator! Shall I Bloom?
Morning Prayer: Come, Spirit, come. It is an ancient prayer we pray to you, O God, but ever relevant and ever fresh. Come, Spirit come. Inspire us. Encourage us. Co-create with us the shape of our lives. Embolden us to live more freely, more compassionately, more lovingly. Embolden us to work for a more just and peaceful world. Spirit of God, be the wind and water that help us bloom. In Jesus. Amen.
Songs: O God, Our Help in Ages Past; Freely, Freely; Would I Have Answered When You Called
Musicians: Joshua Peterson, organ; Elaina Mattson and Mayson Whitlock, violin duet; Woodwind Quintet – Dawn Silvestrini, flute; Erin Martens, oboe; Libby Gaalaas, clarinet; Ellen Hill, horn; Adair Ballavance, bassoon
Following worship there will be a brief question and answer session on the process for electing bishops in The United Methodist Church
